After defeating the Lions 4-3 the night before after another great pitching performance from lefty Jack F and a walk off win, Carnarvon was onto the Finals.
Starting again with 9 players due to an injury to Kasper G and with Jonah C and Nick O away playing in the Youth Nationals tournament in Reno, Nevada, forcing Maguire L to do full time duty over two days behind the plate.
The First inning started with a Carnarvon error which eventually led to a Triangle run. The team settled down to leave three Triangle base runners stranded.
Carnarvon got the run back in the second inning with a hit from Kieran vN and then walk to Kavin B. Fraser S-M then hit a sacrifice, scoring Kieran vN.
Carnarvon went up 3-1 in the fourth inning with Kavin B leading off with a single. Fraser S-M then hit a huge double over the centre fielder scoring Kavin B. With two out Wyatt M crushed a double over the left fielder, scoring Fraser S-M.
In the fifth inning Trevor N led off with a single, stealing both second and third base. Attempted sacrifice by Griffin M failed to score the run only to have Josh B up next hit a sacrifice to the right side to get Trevor across to make it 4-1.
The sixth inning starting promising with a lead off single to right field from Kavin B but a fielders choice on a Maguire L hit and two strikeoutsended the inning.
The remainder of the game, as it was since the first inning, saw a number of great defensive plays and solid pitching holding an offensively talented Triangle team to just one run.
Kieran vN pitched a maximum 5 2/3 innings with one unearned run in a dominant performance which lead to Wyatt M coming in to close out the game. Striking out the final batter with two base runners on.
