South Vancouver Island Fastball (SVI) has scheduled three exciting
events for Oct 6!
SVI
is sponsoring the UBC Thunderbirds Varsity softball team�??�?�¢??s trip to
Victoria on October 6 to play a scrimmage game against the VFC (Devils)
U19 College Prospect team. The game will start at 1:30 pm and will be
hosted at Peninsula �??�?�¢?? Rotary Park. Come out and see our local college
prospects play against the NAIA UBC Thunderbirds and cheer on our three
local Victoria players debut as college freshman. Admission is free of
charge!
SVI, in partnership with the VFC (Devils), is providing a
softball skills clinic for 2008, 2009 and 2010 birth year players. The
clinic will run in the morning (likely 10 to 12:30), with a break for
lunch, so the players can watch the UBC Thunderbird and VFC College
Prospects game. Providing instruction will be current Devils coaches
and, current and ex-Devils players. Admission is free! Details will be
out shortly regarding the registration process.
Umpires
Clinic �??�?�¢?? SVI is sponsoring an Umpires Clinic for any player born in
2007 or earlier who has thought they might like to try umpiring. All of
our Associations are looking for youth umpires and this is an
opportunity for local players who have thought about umpiring to
participate in a multi-hour clinic and receive instruction from local
Senior Umpires. The clinic will run in the morning with a lunch break
prior to the UBC Thunderbird and VFC scrimmage game. Further details,
including the registration process will be out shortly. Admission is
free!
